AUTUMN TART WITH HAZELNUTS, HONEY, AND ORANGES

I was making this tart with hazelnuts, oranges, and honey (recipe originally from polish MakeCookingEasier but I changed it a bit). It is perfect for an autumn evening, especially since the hazelnuts were from a big hazelnut tree in the backyard of my mom's house. Whenever I come to visit she always packs me a lot of good stuff from her garden or pantry.

But coming back to the tart, it has that specific butter-ish taste to it and smells like oranges. Christmas is coming! It is better to wait until it will be cold, but I of course could not resist to try it right away :) You will find the recipe below.

To make the tart you need:
  • 200g of flour
  • 30g of sugar
  • 125g of butter
  • 1 spoon of water

To prepare the orange skin you need:
  • skin from one orange (get rid of the white parts)
  • 1 spoon of sugar
  • 1 spoon of water

To make the filling you need:
  • 1 egg
  • 150ml of 36% cream
  • 50g of butter
  • 30g of sugar
  • 300g of hazelnuts
  • 4 spoons of honey

To make the tart, you need to mix flour, butter, sugar, and water together. When the cake stops sticking to your hands, put it into foil and leave in the freezer for 30 minutes.

In the meantime you can cut the orange skin into small squares and fry it on butter adding water after a minute. Keep it on the frying pan for about 3 minutes or until the orange skin gets softer.

Heat your oven to 180 degrees.

Take the cake out of the freezer and put it into a baking form. Make small holes in it and put it into the oven for 25 minutes. When ready, take it out from the oven and let it cool down.

In the meantime, mix butter, sugar, honey, and cream with whipped egg, orange skin, and hazelnuts in a pot. Cook it slowly for five minutes while constantly mixing. When ready, put it on the tart and bake it in oven at 190 degrees (about 20 minutes, but look out so the hazelnuts does not become black). Let it cool down for about an hour. Unlike me :)

Cheers!
