PHOTOS OF ONE YEAR OLD SIMONA

A couple of days ago Svetlana and her one year old daughter Simona came to my place in Aalborg, so I could take some photos of that lovely child. The day before I prepared a scenography which you can see on the first and second photo. Simona allowed me to take a few photos of her sitting in the middle of the paper flower field, but she was definitely more attracted to the soap bubbles we were playing with later on.

A few weeks back I had the chance to photograph Rasa, my dear friend, who I met in Aalborg where we currently study. What you can tell about her is that she is perfect at organizing and is well known for creating all kinds of lists. The photo below is my favourite from the series of photos from that day because I feel like it shows a part of her personality while it also reveals her beauty.



I used a texture created by Sirius-sdz. I like how the texture increases depth in the photo. This week I challenged myself to create my own texture so hopefully you will be able to see it in my future work.

I am not one of those photographers who think that a great photo can be taken without any post-capture photo enhancement. I like to think of the photos from the camera as a draft, canvas, on which you can allow yourself to create a world of fantasy. Of course it is very important to capture good photos with the camera, especially because there are some aspects you simply cannot change afterwards. A good example of that could be a face expression. Coming back to basis, we can not forget that working in photo editing programs is about enhancing photographs and not making them from scratch.

I like to compare photo enhancement to the taste of watermelon. It might sound colloquial, but usually, products which are supposed to have a watermelon taste differs quite a lot from the actual watermelon taste. We accept it because throughout our lives we were used to diversity in watermelon taste. Similar things happen in magazines. We know that photos of people in magazines are often improved, but this is what we get used to and it would be surprising to see them without any kind of enhancement.

I have lately had the pleasure to ask some questions to one of my favourite retouchers, Pratik Naik. What I like the most about the photos he retouches is that you can see the smallest details and soft changes in textures. Another thing is that the colour combinations create an amazing mood and atmosphere.

WINTER STORY WITH ZUZA

During holidays I went back from Denmark to Poland for some time to visit my family and friends. In the middle of summer I met with Zuza and I made a photo session of her in Warsaw, Poland. We found a place, which looked like a abandoned garden.  There is something interesting in Zuza and she definitely reminds me of Liv Tyler. Zuza wears ethereal dress and delicate make up.

Lately my photo was approved on Vogue Italia website. This is the place where Vogue editorial staff evaluate photos one by one. The best photos are shown on PhotoVogue's homepage. There is also a chance that photos can be published in the magazine, the editorial staff choose the best three of them. You can see my photo on Vogue website.
